We are so fortunate to have such generous friends, the Leonards, who invite us to their New Jersey shore house rental every August!
We took Bug to the beach for the first time last summer when he was 5 months old… and it wasn’t so awesome. He was starting to be picky about nursing, still hadn’t figured out the sleeping thing, and it was just really difficult. (But really darn adorable!)
This summer was so much better! Mommies, it’s so hard when you’re really in it with your kids. But a year’s worth of experience and perspective really makes a difference. Hold on, you will get through it! (There’s a reason why babies are so cute and chubby.)
Special thanks to Daddy Bug, Aunt Shelley, and Uncle Brian for helping me take this year’s pictures. 🙂 Disclaimer: I took a billion pictures, almost maxing out my blog memory. Eek!
Yeah family photos!

Digging with Aunt Shelley.
There’s sand on my toes…

One of many artsy shots.
Burying the baby!
You guys, get me out!
Had to do a boat picture!
Blechhh first mouthful of sand.
Ya know, this sand thing isn’t so bad!
Brian and I, probs best picture of the 2 of us ever. 😀
Long eyelashes for a reason, keeping the sand out!
No more beach, no more camera, take me back to the house!
Brian & Shelley’s dog, Jack. He kept sneaking up behind Bug and humping him after Bug continued to steal his favorite toy, pictured here. Hah!
Bug throwing the ball to Jack.
iPhones are the best way to get Bug to be your friend.
We took a walk before eating dinner and going home (just a day trip this time!)
A really cute shore house and gorgeous garden we saw on the walk.
